Introduction
ANSI/ESD S20.20 is an internationally recognized standard that provides the administrative and technical requirements to establish, implement, and maintain an ESD control program. It is developed by the ESD Association and approved by American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
ANSI/ESD S20.20 aims to protect sensitive electronic components, assemblies, and equipment from costly ESD damages. The requirements of the standard can help an organization to develop an ESD control program that protects electrical or electronic parts, assemblies and equipment from electrostatic discharges with specific range.
An organization can declare to the market that they implement an effective ESD control program with a recognized third-party certification program base on ANSI/ESD S20.20. It can be a good internal control mechanism to ensure effective implementation.
