Why Us?

Introduction

Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) is used to analyze products, processes and services and determine all possible modes of failure and their effects on the performance of the product, operation of the processes or service system. By analyzing all these risks, proper control can be developed to minimize the potential of failure from ever happening. FMEA is applicable to both the manufacturing and service sector.

After many years of discussions regarding differences in application and the methodology related to FMEA, the 5th edition was jointly published in June 2019, harmonizing practices between the AIAG and VDA. It provides a common foundation for FMEA across the breadth of the automotive industry.
