Why Us?

Introduction

5 Core Tools intends to allow an organization to achieve three simultaneous and equally momentous goals: (1) provide high-quality products meeting or exceeding customer expectations, (2) produce sustainable volume, and (3) deliver on time.

Based on the information gathered for the previous ISO TS 16949, it shows that many nonconformities occurred because of poor (or lack of) implementation of core tools. Therefore, to be successful in all three goals, the Quality Management System (QMS) standard IATF 16949 has evolved to provide guidance to these industries. The specific expectations of IATF 16949 are supported by the 5 Core Tools. These tools are supplemental publications by AIAG, separately from IATF 16949 standard itself.
